The drive around Lake Miile Lacs is lovely and don't miss the giant walleye on the lake as you drive into Garrison. It's not quite as nice of drive from the twin cities due to the route and traffic congestion in Elk River but once you get past that piece of the road it improves. Your in the resort community and copious numbers of the fishing folks. Grand Casino Mille Lacs has a very different vibe than it's sister casino in Hinckley.
